Problems of Pollution : Pollution is a serious threat to the health of an environment. There are many effects of pollution which are known to humans and there are many which are unknown. Humans are mostly concerned with direct effects of pollution such as effects upon their health. But there are many effects on the environment first and then it effects human beings indirectly.
Gaseous pollutants effect the health of humans adversely. Right from minor irritants to the ones causing serious diseases such as chronic bronchitis, asthma, gaseous pollutants causes many diseases.
The indestructible poisons are ubiquitous in the environment. Metallic contaminants, pesticides traces, etc. stays in the environment for a long time. They causes a variety of bizarre body conditions and also enters the food chain causing biological magnification. Fluoride in drinking water, arsenic, etc are very harmful for the human body.
Manmade carcinogenic compounds such as asbestos, teratogens, etc. are developed for some careful human uses. But when they are exposed under unsafe conditions, they causes a lot of harm. Radioactive materials and radioactive wastes are another source of harmful effects. They release different rays which have both somatic and genetic effects. They cause blood abnormalities, leukemia, bone changes, etc. Radiation causes damage to germ cells.

Biological contaminants from pollution such as different bacteria’s causes’ anthrax, histoplasmosis, etc. Animals are also effected by pollution and they get eye and respiratory irritations. The ingestion of pollutants by cattle causes abnormal calcification of bones and teeth, called fluorosis resulting in loss of weight and lameness. Water pollution effects the aquatic life also and many fishes and other aquatic animals get killed.
Exhaust gases from rockets contain certain substances which are not present in the atmosphere normally. These substances pollute the upper atmosphere and produce changes that might effect the layer of ozone protecting the earth’s surface from harmful UV radiations.
Climate change is also a very serious affair as it effects our crops and rain pattern. Therefore we can conclude that such implications on the environment can cause unpredictable changes from the natural environment to an imbalanced environment. And if proper steps are not taken to minimize these effects, the earth is partially moving towards a very dangerous position. Life on earth will be in danger.
