ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

“Today we’re dumping 70 million tons of global-warming pollution into the environment, and tomorrow we will dump more, and there is no effective worldwide response. Until we start sharply reducing global-warming pollution, I will feel that I have failed.”

The world we live is being murdered everyday. And many of us are not bothered about it. This calls for some serious steps to be initiated and processed in order to protect our environment. Environmental Management is one such call. Environmental Management or EM refers to management of environmental programs in a systematic, planned and documented manner. Every occurrence of any situation is saved and kept for future reference. All these are done in order to get a rough count and do analysis on the estimated resources.

Environmental Management has prioritized its goals mainly into two sections. This includes Compliance and Waste Reduction. Compliance refers to maintaining the necessary standards required. The other one is Waste Reduction which refers to avoiding the usage of materials that cannot be recycled. This in turn helps to reduce pollution and in turn avoid vector borne diseases.

An Environmental Management has a large number of features which becomes a benefactor for our sustainable earth. Environmental Management is a method by which it keeps track of what goes around in the world and keeps careful analysis to minimise destruction. It stores necessary data in a systematic manner. It has a set of rules that is made mandatory for all sorts of organizations and they are requested to follow these rules to meet the required standards. It gives suggestions on how to improve the present condition of the environment. It also points out what actions of mankind leads to degradation of the environment.

The Environmental Management has a definite cycle that it follows. It is commonly called as the Plan-Do-Check-Act or it is abbreviated as PDCA cycle. From this we can clearly understand that in the initial step planning is very important. With a given plan, the next is to work upon it. However, before executing the plan it becomes necessary for us to check whether the created plan is valid and do not harm the environment. Once the checking is done, the plan is executed. This is a continuous cycle that has to be revised every now and then.

Environmental Management is a combined effort of professors, scholars, students and various researchers. The analysis made has helped public interest groups, hospitals, business, industrialists etc. the principle of nature is not defied under Environmental Management.
